Deeply rooted in the belief that genuine healing originates from within, my holistic approach to wellness revolves around mindfulness, meditation, Reiki, and sound healing. Through years of devoted study and practice, I have witnessed firsthand the immense power of these gentle healing modalities and their transformative effects on individuals' lives.
Modalities
Reiki
According to the founder of this style of Reiki, Usui Sensei, Reiki is "the secret art of inviting happiness". A treatment is deeply relaxing and aids in releasing layers of stress, conditioning, pain, sorrow, and fear to reveal your authentic self and inner light. Reiki is a gentle hands-on treatment from Japan that promotes healing.
Shamanic Journeying
Shamans and Shamanic practitioners use altered mind-states to access different layers of consciousness. Shamanic Journeying can be used for seeking specific information, releasing old trauma, personal healing - on all levels, and above all, accessing one's own intuition. Meditation
Many people believe that meditation is the act of no thoughts, when it's actually a practice in witnessing one's thoughts. In this way, we are able to release the control our minds have on our inner stillness and guidance. Meditation doesn't always have to be silent, together we'll find a practice that works for you.
Sound Healing
Even my super skeptical husband believes in the medicinal capabiliteis of sound. Every atom in the universe, yes, that means inside you and me, is vibrating to it's own rythm. When I use sound healing, I am helping your atoms to reharmonize with each other and your surroundings. My instruments of choice are my shamanic drum, and beautiful singing bowl, both of which have a soothing affect on the nervous system. The rythmic beat of the drum is proven to help symtoms of ptsd, anxiety, depression, among other things.
Yoga
Yoga means 'to yoke', which is generally believed to imply the binding of one's breath and movement together; I see yoga as a binding of one's soul to the body. It always for a sacred space within the border of one's mat, where you can experiment with simply being - a laboratory, as my dear teacher likes to call it, if you will. We get to experience our bodies fully from the inside. We get to experience duality - flexing and relaxing, ease and strength, yin and yang. There's also the added benefits of improved health, in mind, body, and soul.
Voice Medicine
I have found the medicine of one's own voice is the most powerful transformational tool we can posess. The good news is, we are all born with it. The bad news is that many of us have forgotten how to use it. The voice is a magical tool that allows thoughts and feelings to take form. When we use our voice in chanting and healing sound, we can transmute emotions we didn't even know we had. It helps to soothe the nervous system, and manifest things at lightening speed. Our voices heal us from the inside out, vibrating soothing tones through each of our cells as we envision our intentions and blessings out into the world.
